We’ll be looking at what it means to be a Christian man in the first half of the 21st Century. Into a culture in which received notions of masculinity are considered toxic, the Lord sends his children male and female, equally beloved in his eyes, different in almost everything else. What does it mean to be a man in Christ, and what vision of character and conduct has He set before us in his word? We’ll discuss everything from the rise of “gender” (the term didn’t come into currency until the 1970s), to why Jordan Peterson has 1mm subscribers (same as artofmanliness.com) on YouTube, and why a Manhattan-based policy wonk felt the need to start a subscription email called “The Masculinist” when he already had plenty to do.
The retreat runs Friday evening after dinner through Sunday breakfast.
All men are welcome to attend the pre-retreat event on May 25. Though this evening is connected with the retreat, you don’t have to attend the retreat to attend the hangout. Come and enjoy a time of fellowship with your brothers!
