A Few Important Announcements

A Few Important Announcements

» A handful of important things to announce today, the first of which is Selah prayer & music tonight at 7p. We’ll be praying through Psalm 33, a powerful re-centering of our vision and hope on the God whose dominion is everlasting and whose plans prevail in the face of all earthly powers.

» Men’s Ministry. We’ll meet this Saturday morning at 8a (BYOBreakfast). I’ll walk us through Psalm 33 with specific application to this (insane) past year. What does it mean that he “brings the counsel of the nations to nothing” and what’s our equivalent to the war horse who is “a vain hope”? (Officer prayer for the congregation at 7a. Austin will send the link for those on Zoom.)

» Evening Worship. You may have seen in announcements that evening worship is postponed until later spring when we can meet outside in larger numbers. We will keep you updated on this. If we happen to see a warmish and dry Sunday evening in the forecast, between now and resuming regular weekly evening worship, we may try to squeeze in the odd service or two. We’ll try to announce that early enough in the week for you to make plans.

» Annual Meeting. No annual meeting this year due to Covid. Instead, later this month you’ll be receiving a report on CPC ministries and budget. Also, our vote on officers whose terms expire this year — something we typically do at the annual meeting — will be held as soon as we are able to gather again in person. You are welcome to ask questions about these decisions, either by responding to this email or by contacting your shepherding officers.

» Here’s the last stanza of Psalm 33:
Our soul waits for the Lord;
he is our help and our shield.
For our heart is glad in him,
because we trust in his holy name.
Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
even as we hope in you.
