Maundy Thursday Prayer & Communion at CPC

Maundy Thursday Prayer & Communion at CPC

Although each week at the Table we say “…on the night in which he was betrayed,” we’ve never actually gathered to pray on that night. This is an invitation to join me for prayer and communion, this Thursday at 8:00p. There will be readings from the Upper Room Discourse (John 13-17) and brief teaching, written and extemporaneous prayer, then the celebration of the Lord’s Supper. My hope is that the later time slot will allow at least one parent to come after kids are down. We should be done by 9:15. (We may have to flex a bit on time to accommodate the Good Friday rehearsal ending at 8:00p.)

The name “Maundy” Thursday comes from the Latin mondatum, which refers to the “mandate” of John 13:34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.”

If you are considering coming, please let Julie know so she can prepare communion servings. Thank you and looking forward to being with you.
