Newcomers’ Class

Newcomers’ Class

So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone…”

Ephesians 2:19-20

The Newcomers’ Class is highly recommended for a deeper understanding of Reformed theology, as well as Presbyterian ecclesiology (doctrine of the Church) and polity (government). Why does any of this matter? As G.K. Chesterton said, when people are at their best and most exuberant, they create order and structure. Take away order and structure — in thought and action — and the result is not freedom, but chaos and the hellish refrain of the book of Judges: “everyone did what was right in their own eyes.” You are welcome to join this class, not only if you are new to CPC, but if you want a deeper understanding of the biblical roots of our doctrine and polity.
